Why I Founded Sino Import Solutions
I’m Bas van Rens, founder of Sino Import Solutions. Let me share my story and why I started the company.
When I arrived in China in 2014, I didn’t know much about China. I easily believed the false promises people made.
It was a shock to see how easily people could make up stories and how lying was often accepted. I have encountered many occasions of factories telling me orders were finished while they were not or trying to deny problems that were obviously there. They are hard lessons. I learned that only seeing is believing in China. You have to be proactive and check everything to find out how things really are.
I also discovered the pragmatic and resourceful nature of the Chinese people. By understanding their way of doing business and speaking their language, I got adapted to the Chinese way of doing business.
I could get factories to help us with last-minute specification changes, test new materials/designs, and adapt production to client order plans. Find the opportunities in China, instead of focusing on the shortcomings.
These experiences inspired my mission to help China importers succeed by bridging the West and China. The West and China need each other, and by working together, we can create incredible opportunities.
Unfortunately, not enough Westerners take the time these days to learn about China. But let me tell you, this country has so much to offer. Many Chinese people are creative, love to share food and experiences, and are always also willing to create win-win solutions.

We are based in Guangzhou, in the heart of the Pearl River Delta in Guangdong province, surrounded by cities such as Shenzhen, Foshan, and Dongguan. This strategic location allows us to visit suppliers in China’s most industrialised province easily.
